Sheila Dainow

Sheila came to textile art late in her career as an artist. She is fascinated by the flexibility of stitch.

Print, dye and stitch offer a range of techniques and materials with which to create subtle and symbolic images. Inspiration can come from the natural world, an event in history or a fragment of text.

She finds constant interest in possibilities for experimental mixing of materials and techniques. An unexpected result of an experiment can result in a glorious surprise.  The question ‘I wonder what would happen if…..?’ is often in Sheila’s mind.
