Yvonne is interested in exploring the perception of depth and layers of the hidden, the revealed and the states inbetween, as well as exploring the boundaries between visible and invisible, stability and fragility. The work is often initiated by an interest in scientific subjects, most recently astronomy. Yvonne often uses transparent or translucent elements to explore these ideas, whether in textiles or glass; she originally trained in glass-making and jewellery-making, and these continue to have an influence on her work in the emphasis on transparency and detail.
